WHAT WE LOVED ABOUT CAPE,

  • Witnessing a spectacular sunrise from the famous moon pool at dawn.
  • Enjoying a delicious floating breakfast at the infinity pool in our private garden.
  • Having sundowner cocktails and high tea at the cape club.
  • Enjoying a fabulous sunset at the lookout point.
  • Experiencing one of the best in-villa couples spa treatments.

1. Ambience

The resort is stretched across 12 acres of land and all its gardens are meticulously landscaped and adorned with exotic flowers and trees. Many of the rooms are freestanding villas clustered in twos or threes in separate walled gardens with emerald lawns and 15-meter infinity swimming pools overlooking the Indian ocean.

This property has 39 rooms in total which includes 16 suites and 20 standalone villas. The suites are located at the lower level of the property, around the cove pool and is best suited for families travelling with little children.

The villas are set within eight gardens in the upper part of the headland, comprising of two or three villas in each as well a shared infinity pool. The ocean pool villa and the duplex two-bedroom cape pool villa enjoy private 15-meter pools.

We highly recommend either the Premier Ocean Villa or the Prestige Ocean Villa. Both of these are 180 m2 in size and come with one king bed and one roller way bed that can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Apart from the above, they also feature: a well-furnished outdoor living area, sunbeds on verandah and garden, outdoor dining area, shared infinity pool, stone bathtub, walk-in wardrobe, walk-in rain shower with steam room and Sonos audio system. In addition, the Prestige Villa has an indoor living room and bar counter.

And the ala carte offers you a wide variety of choices that you can select from for lunch and dinner.

In the evenings you can opt to have dinner at the 12-seater steakhouse and grill restaurant, Tableau, enjoy sundowners and cocktails at Cape club or enjoy high tea or a private intimate dinner at one of the lookout points (make an early reservation if you want to have a meal at the lookout point).

The adults only, 60-meter, crescent shaped moon pool, with an infinity edge that curves around the cape, allows swimmers to enjoy 270-degree views of the Indian Ocean. This pool is so unique in design, it can make you look like you’re walking on water. The moon pool is one of the most photographed places at Cape Weligama and the best time is during sunrise and sunset. And yes, you heard us right! The moon pool is positioned so well, it allows you to capture both.

The cove pool located at the lower part of the property welcomes children.

6. Spa

If you visit Cape, make sure to try one of their in-villa spa treatments, you will not regret it. For us, it was the best couples massage we’ve ever had. It was simply excellent.
